adventure

What’s meaningful to me? Adventure.
When I dare to step out there, shake off the draw toward the familiar, and open my heart to the myriad of possibilities before me, I’m always amazed at how much more ALIVE I feel. Embracing uncertainty awakens a joyful curiosity within me, a care-full approach that intuitively honors the gifts of each moment.
Every moment, every relationship, every challenge offers me an exquisite opportunity to awaken more fully to the essence of who I am: LOVE. It may not feel that way at first, but all the fear, resistance, and attachment that come forward when I step out into the unknown are only layers of illusion I’m ready to move beyond. As I choose to lean more deeply into the adventure, really feeling the full rush of those barriers falling away, I’m suddenly awake, alive, and free.
Adventure by definition implies risk and uncertainty. Which is fascinating as this really is the essence of life. When we resist the flow by attempting to dig our heels in and cling onto the comfort and security of where we’ve been, we’re missing the best part! I know that wise guide inside of you knows where I’m going with this… Go climb a granite slab or hike an unknown trail, paddle into an oncoming set or stretch into a fuller expression of a pose on your yoga mat. Outer experience is a reflection of inner reality, and I can’t help but feel this shift when I’m out there in the world, daring to try something with a beginners mind. When I embrace the unknown surprises and trust that sparkle of life that flutters in my heart when I surrender to its flow… it offers meaning and perspective and will undoubtedly change the way you live.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
