serenity

Eleven years ago, I had a head trauma accident and survived, making a full comeback, even though doctors said I wouldn’t be able to without brain damage. Having that experience led me onto a path of health and wellness and knowing the universe had bigger plans for me than the path I’d been on before. I was literally given a second chance at life. I was reborn.
What’s meaningful to me are the relationships I’ve built, especially over the past year. Building amazing relationships with people along this new path and knowing I’m touching lives every day is the most rewarding work I could ask for. My purpose now is to inspire and motivate as many people as I can.
Before my life-and-death experience, I was on a very self-destructive path – floating through life, not loving myself or even taking care of my basic needs. I didn’t know about health or nutrition or fitness. I didn’t know what I wanted to do or what was important to me. My spiritual journey began after the accident. I got interested in the Abraham-Hicks teachings and learned about the Law of Attraction and how to manifest desires. I started with self-love and taking care of my basic needs.
The clear indicator that I’m out of balance is when I feel off-kilter or have negative emotions. Then everything gets out of whack. When I realize this is happening, the biggest and most important thing for me is to stop moving for a moment and bring my attention back to center. I watch my thoughts. I take action to make sure I’m getting enough rest and putting food in my body that I need. I also reach out to people. Surrounding myself with people who hold me accountable and remind me to take care of myself helps a lot.
An important part of overall wellness is being rested and feeling relaxed, rather than being on the go all the time. When we’re too busy we can fool ourselves that we’re getting things done. I tend to be so high-energy all the time that I pay a lot of attention to moderation and balance and serenity. If I find myself rushing from here to there, I regain my balance by doing more yoga and adding more downtime between appointments.
The most important thing is to take care of yourself first. If you don’t, you can’t be the best leader possible.
