why not?

The most meaningful thing for us is watching other people grow into the awareness of who they truly are and how they can live more purposeful lives – how they can stand in the fullness of who they are and, by simply standing there, become an inspiration for others.
We’ve found that the way into that awareness is by shifting from being goal-oriented, focused on outer success and materialism, to an orientation focused on being the loving, compassionate, useful, and spiritual beings that we are. The more we do that and the more we help others do that, the more we (and they) naturally find greater levels of meaning in our lives.
As we grow in conscious awareness of who we are, it’s not that we become less involved in what we do in our material lives. It’s that we realize that the happiness promised as a result of that material success is a false goal. No matter how successful we are, no matter how much money we accumulate, those kinds of things will never make us happy – contrary to popular belief. The way we really find success is inside ourselves, as our natural state.
In our personal lives and in our work, we see how our own and others’ lives change when we’re open. What if we didn’t have a place inside that said “That’s ridiculous.” What if we said “Why not?” instead? When new ideas are presented, we never dismiss them just because they don’t agree with the ideas of our tribe. People talked about ESP and we said, “Well, why not?” People talked about beings from other planets and we said, “Why not?” People talked about spirituality in new ways and we said, “Why not?”
We’re in a new age. The time has come when people are stepping into the fullness of who they truly are. New questions arise. What kinds of relationships do we want to have with each other? If we even continue to do business, what kinds of businesses will we formulate? What kinds of governments will we have? Will we even have nation states anymore? If everyone moves into deeper levels of cooperation based on who they really are, do we need to continue along the path of regulating things and having rules because of the people who abuse the system? What happens when more and more of us want to do the right thing because who we are inside is inherently successful?
