Growing up in a family business, I experienced family and community at the core of everything my parents did. Community and community-building are important because of the incredible power in shared experiences. Earlier this year, I took a couple classes that made me think deeper about the stories we tell and hear. It’s important to share stories because they uniquely build human connection and empathy.
I love having conversations with people who are different from me, really getting to know and understand them, their stories, their motives, and their perspectives on life. It’s as simple as sitting down with someone and asking questions. When I do that, I learn so much – about them and about myself.
