truth

In recent years I have discovered the importance of being truthful about who I really am, rather than who I think I ought to be or who others think I should be, whether that is society or my inner circle. I took steps to being truthful in how I lived. This resulted in my entire life being shaken up. I moved countries, took huge personal, professional and financial risks all in the quest to discover my true path. In doing so I faced demons from my past, the truth of painful things that had happened to me. I had to process and accept them as part of my journey.
I also realized there were certain situations when I wasn’t being completely honest for the sake of keeping the peace. By doing so I suffered an inner turmoil and torture that was the opposite of peace. Even whilst not being actively dishonest, by keeping silent I was engaging in a form of dishonesty. I risked friendships, professional opportunities, and more by speaking up.
During this truth-seeking journey I became very unwell. In years of operating from a place of fear and dis-ingenuity I had created a dis-ease between my body and soul. Falling ill, while terrifying, was almost a relief from the illusion that my life had become. It was as though I was suddenly forced into confronting the raw reality in order to change my life. I completely re-hauled my way of being. I spring-cleaned my entire life, dropping habits that were part of my life for years. I let go of certain people and relationships that I had thought would be part of my life forever, both romantic and platonic.
This journey led me to a complete recovery. I am now flourishing in mind, body and soul in a way that I have never previously experienced. I am living my life from the small detail to the bigger picture in a completely truthful way. I have found my true purpose in life is not only serving my greater good, but also that of others.
The lack of truth and people not living their truth causes most of the problems we experience both individually and globally. In order for people to enhance their own lives and for the world to be a better place it is essential for honesty to prevail.
