strategy

My life changed dramatically this year because I willed it to. I chose a spiritual path that consisted of connecting with my authentic self. Choosing from the heart. Releasing ego. Being of service. Expecting miracles. Investing in mind-body- soul integration.
On New Years Eve last year, I met someone that followed a practice of similar principles. By keeping this energetic door open, I have met the most phenomenal and inspiring people this year. I have received opportunities that I do not think I would have even seen in the past. 2012 was undoubtedly the best year of my life, filled with constant joy and daily gifts.
What has been central to this joy is strategy. What I have found in my career is that successful businesses always have a very simple and clear strategy, and they stick to it unfailingly. The same is true in life. Early in the year, a good friend and I created a routine similar to creating a workout plan …but for the soul. It has worked very well for us. Here’s our “soul workout plan,” in case you want to try it:
- Beginning of the year: Make a vision plan for what you want to achieve in the year and what you want to let go of. Begin with the end goal in mind.
- Monthly: Revisit this vision to keep you on track, and pat yourself on the back once you cross things off the list.
- Weekly: Meditate and connect, ideally with a partner. We typically do guided meditations that are free on iTunes.
- Daily:
a. Begin each day sharing intention. Text it to your soul workout partner.
b. End each day sharing reflection. What was your high and what was your low for the day? Text that as well.
c. Exercise daily to connect the body with mind and soul. All are intertwined. It is impossible to have health in one without the others.
d. Do a quick 5-minute guided meditation during the day if you feel off and need to reconnect.
What you will find is that you will be constantly connected with your authentic self, which in turn manifests into joy, health, productivity, prosperity, and peace.
Life isn’t all that random. You can’t expect to get the life you want without putting your mind, body, and soul into proper alignment. Having a strategy is key, but the difference between business strategy and life strategy is that the latter should be directed from the heart.
