journey

I find meaning in my life by thinking of myself traveling on the Hero’s journey. This archetype notion is a source of great inspiration to me.
I see myself moving through many landscapes and their changing weather systems and encountering a variety of external phenomena over the course of my life. Everything I need in order to handle the various situations I find myself in resides inside of me. I am the Hero of my life, with unconditional confidence in myself. I like the immediate intimacy this idea brings to each situation.
The Hero is the brave-hearted, tender-hearted warrior, one who has genuine sadness but longs to wake up and be of benefit to others. She doesn’t need the world or situations to be other than what they are, because things just as they are provide the perfect conditions through which to glimpse the inherent sacredness of our world.
I also find great inspiration in hearing about other people’s journeys, the ways they’ve transformed obstacles and are engaging in challenging circumstances. In this way and in other ways, I’m constantly letting the world in to hear all it has to offer. I find that the world speaks to me and sends me all sorts of messages on a daily basis. So, like any good traveler, I keep my eyes, ears, and heart open in order to hear and see what comes my way, and I try to slow down so as not to miss anything.
