Up until my mid-forties, I struggled terribly with depression. I never imagined I would be well enough to enjoy my life. Thanks to my persistence, great care, my daughter, and my partner, I have been able to achieve the life I had always hoped I would have.
Good emotional and physical health is the most meaningful thing to me. Maintaining my health inside and out has allowed for my career as a writer to take shape, gain traction, and lead to the publication of two books. This is work I am really proud of.
Sometimes still, dark shadows take over. When they do I turn my attention back to my writing, the natural world, and life’s simple pleasures for comfort and reassurance.
