integrity

My life used to be a big struggle of trying to fit into a world that didn’t suit me and my values. That changed through realizing I wasn’t happy and by listening to my wife, who said to me, “You’re an amazing person. You really need to start looking at what can make you happy.” Without my wife, my rock, I wouldn’t have been able to get to where I am today. (My motto is: Happy wife, happy life.)
After my wife said that, I read a lot of books, took a lot of workshops, and started to realize that who I was inside was still a child. My values of kindness, love, generosity, and community weren’t being actualized, and that was making me miserable. I’d spent my adulthood working in the IT departments of major financial corporations. I’m someone who really loves community generosity, and when I was working in that structure, I was not living with integrity.
My quest now is to heal the world one person at a time. It starts with my work on myself. As a life coach, everyone I work with helps me grow because they allow me to enter their life and see what’s not working for them, and help them. Helping someone is always a two-way exchange. I see myself through them. That’s such a beautiful gift. I don’t think there’s any such thing as being truly selfless, because when we give we get so much back.
As human beings, we create one another. It’s a beautiful thing when we bring our authentic, best self to our interactions and allow people the freedom to just be, when we bring out their potential by listening to them. I’ve seen miracles happen that way. Anything can be accomplished.
Life is made up of all kinds of games I get to play every day. Some I win, some I lose, but I’m always aware that even if I lose a game I could always start a new one. People sometimes seem to think that if they lose a game, their life is over. If you’re fired from a job, for instance, it helps to treat it as a game – you’re not going to die. You may have some rough times because of it, but you’ll persevere and probably do really well in the future. You may even do something you love more.
I have more integrity now. It means a lot to me to be inspired by and to inspire other people, through personal growth and community.
