evolution

Satya
The word evolution came to me several years ago, during self-inquiry, when I was evaluating the ideas of good and bad and right and wrong. Evolution was the word that felt the most true for me and helped me understand things simply. Evolution is the natural unfolding of life in its perfection. That’s not complicated. It feels true.
Particularly in light of a lot of things happening in the world right now, evolution has really become a personal thing for me. To see the things going on in my life as life happening through me, to see myself as moving from moment to moment through evolution, feels true and simple and easy.
Jon
The universe’s story is a process of greater and greater inclusivity, of greater and greater complexity. As living beings, we have the opportunity to participate in that. As human beings, with the quality of self-awareness, we’re able to make choices while being more or less conscious of the context in which we make them. Any action we take can never be against evolution – things are going to turn out however they’re going to turn out – but we have the opportunity to choose how we participate. There’s something very profound about that.
Satya
It’s exciting to be open to the evolution of my understanding of evolution. Jon and I sit around and talk about it. I love the way he describes evolving through the conscious choices we make. Our choices have had a huge impact on how we’re personally evolving. As we personally evolve, the environment around us evolves as well.
Jon
Lately, I’m learning to trust more, to have faith. Evolution itself is evolving in a way that’s so much bigger than I might be aware of or make sense of. I’m learning to settle into trusting that whatever is happening is good and I get to make choices in the best way I can. I’ve got it, conceptually, but I’m evolving toward learning to live it in every moment.
Satya
My own experience now is taking me deeper into trusting. I’m faced with more intense, big, personal challenges that are closer to my heart and that really ask me to trust on levels that are pretty phenomenal. The ego rears it’s head and wants to have its say, but I’m learning to surrender, to back down and trust that life is unfolding perfectly.
