Life has not always been meaningful for me. It actually had no meaning. I remember in 1998 when I was studying in England, and my boyfriend had asked me what I thought the meaning of life was. I was 21, and when he told me the meaning of life is to love, I thought this was the most absurd thing I had ever heard. What a romantic thought, I thought, with no impact, no power, and no significance. I thought his answer was meaningless, but I never forgot what he said. His heart was open at the time, not mine. I was afraid to love, to be intimate. I was afraid.
My turning point came over ten years later after being fired from my job in London as a director of marketing and then having no money. I had lived eight years in the US and had begun to work on myself. Seeking truth and inspiration. But the suffering from those events, especially the second one was so intense that I had to take actions. I could no longer live this way. I decided once and for all to fully dive into my emotions and find out what was blocking my abundance, my freedom, my sanity.
My fears were stronger than ever. It was dense and scary. My ego was battling. I started to pray, to ask for help, to visualize and apply all the tools I had heard of. The road was bumpy, but one day my soul won the battle. I actually decided there were no battles left, I didn’t need to fight anymore, I simply needed to receive and accept. Accept my situation, accept my fears, and accept my life as it was. Gratitude became a daily practice, and everything became a miracle. My heart reopened to life. My breathing was different. I was living in a new paradigm.
Life has never been the same ever since. I feel free to be myself. Life now has meaning. My capacity to love has expanded, and I can now connect deeply with the magnificent reality of life, with people and most of all with myself. I can love freely and openly. I can follow my unique path. A path that is intuitive, in harmony with nature and my deepest desires of the soul. One that is unconditional, loving, and good for humanity—and me.
