joy

Growing up, I always knew I was different.
I distinctly remember walking the halls of my elementary school with a smile stretched from one ear to the other, simply because I was happy to be alive. It didn’t take me long to notice how contagious happiness could be. Most people who happened to glance up as I passed, turned up their light when they saw mine.
Then…I grew up. I experienced heartache. My light dimmed.
I learned how energy could work the other way around, and how contagious misery could also be.
But that small voice inside reminded me that there was another way. Despite not being able to name it, I began seeking that feeling I knew so well in my childhood once again.
Was it a tribe to accept me? A man to love me? A healthy lifestyle to guide me?
I spent moments, days, and what felt like lifetimes pondering this elusive thing that couldn’t be named. Then it hit me.
I was seeking JOY. Pure unadulterated joy and the fullest expression of my soul.
I quickly realized how connected this idea of joy was to all other areas.
When I was tapping into my fullest joy, my most authentic tribe would naturally be drawn to me, the right man would find me, and I would approach my physical body with a level of playfulness and ease that I was lacking before.
I began bringing conscious, loving awareness to what my mind, both my ego and intuition, was telling me. I started listening to my body, giving it what it needed when it needed it, whether that was stillness or movement, clean fuel or a bit of sensory indulgence.
Most importantly, I simply let the light shine through my soul rather than trying to create it all on my own, remembering that the universe always has my back.
Discovering what worked so beautifully for me, I’ve now made it my mission to share with everyone this truth that helped me reclaim joy in my life.
I begin with these steps:
- Slow down
- Tune into the voices of my ego and intuition
- Learn how they speak through my mind and body
- Choose love over fear when I receive these messages, creating joy from the inside out
