soul growth

It all started when a spirit guide walked through my front door. Nothing has been the same since.
Notice that I said “through” the front door. That was the actual truth. That apparition, which had an unusual density and vibration, was not only something I didn’t believe in, but something I rejected with every cell of my body.
Yet … there he was. As I stood dumbstruck, paralyzed, he perched himself on the edge of my sofa and began to talk. The lessons that followed were the most beautiful lessons I’ve ever heard.
Even in that miracle of moments, my 20 years of journalistic training didn’t abandon me. I grabbed my laptop and started typing what he was saying. Ever since that first day, that’s been my practice.
Eight years later, my psychic abilities have fully opened and my spirituality has blossomed – nay, been transformed – by this divine infusion. It’s been a whirlwind, a miracle, a life shift.
More than anything else, what I’ve learned is that our time here on Earth is finite. We’ve each got a particular canvas to paint on, and whether our canvas is big, small, or medium, it’s the only one we’ve got.
When people get stuck, as we all do, it’s because we believe the group-thought which says that if we just work harder, achieve more, focus longer, stay stronger … we’ll be happy, we’ll be whole, we’ll transcend.
None of that is true. The only way we can evolve, expand, and open into our true, spiritual, divine selves, is via the human heart. Every human has the opportunity to move through four passages of the heart: pain, compassion, connection, and love.
When we feel stuck, it’s because we’re in the beginning stage of pain; we’re fighting it, or letting it rule. We avoid pain by numbing ourselves with activities or addictions.
As we open and move forward into the stage of compassion, then into the stage of connection, we begin to understand ourselves as one of One. Here’s where the fun starts, because, at this point, intuition also opens. When we understand ourselves as one of One, it becomes easier to have spiritual, mystic, intuitive, and healing experiences.
It’s easy to open, but harder to sustain being open. Love is where we find true joy and happiness. Learning to live in love 24/7 is our life’s journey, our hero’s quest, our holy grail.
Take away everything else and love is what’s left. Nothing else matters.
