people

I like people. People give me energy. They give me life, opportunity, thought, and inspiration. I’m never one to say I have too many friends or I’m not interested. I’m always interested. Not everyone has to be my closest buddy, but I love the roads and paths that take us to meet people and do new things with people. I love conversation and creativity and thinking of ideas – whether I’m monetizing something or just being silly. My husband and I love to entertain. I love our dinner parties where we’re all talking and chatting and being creative together.
As social and as big as I can be, that’s also as quiet as I can be – because I need to regroup and reenergize. I have good energy, but I also love resting and being quiet. There’s an ebb and flow. If I have a very social weekend approaching, I tend to be quieter during the week, spending time being cozy with my family, like a butterfly in a cocoon. I’ll rest and be introspective – thinking, reading, watching TV. I’ve got to go in that direction or I can’t go the other way and be more social.
I feel very lucky that I’ve always had a purpose and a passion. It seems like the ideas of passion and purpose are growing bigger in our minds, including for children. There’s more direction towards finding purpose.
A lot of people don’t do things because of fear and insecurity – I know that’s been true for me at times. You may need to get out there and create some opportunities. It can be something simple, like taking a class, or joining a book group – whatever helps you create opportunities for finding your passion. You don’t know what the world holds. Take the road less traveled. Take the opportunity, whatever it may be, and see where it leads.
Learning and teaching give my life a lot of meaning, and being inspired every day is a big part of my life. I’ve had some amazing times and there are more things I hope to do. I always wonder if I’ve done enough. What am I contributing to the world? That’s a big question. I’m looking for that next experience. I’m not done yet.
