truth-seeker

My heart always wants to know what’s true. Truth isn’t just a concept. It’s something deep inside, supporting every structure of life. Truth walks in love and compassion. It’s the basis of what life is about.
There was a stage in my life when I was focused on amassing, but even as the money was coming to me, the small voice of my higher self knew I was off. The truth was that the money didn’t do what I thought it would do. There was no feeling of “now I’ve made it.” Instead, I actually felt disharmony.
On the way to truth we might veer off-path, but we’re each equipped with an internal radar. We each have an “inner-net” that can catch us and pull us back on track. When we’re quiet, shutting out other voices, we hear our highest voice. That’s our inner-net, our truth, telling us if what we’re doing isn’t helping us or the world.
We can examine our lives and become aware of what feeds us real food. What feeds not only your soul, but your body and your emotions? Go do those things. Even if you’re tired, go do something stimulating.
To pull me back to my truth, I sit with what I consider great food, a book of poems, or the words of a great sage. That’s my form of meditation, and it immediately pulls me back into what’s important.
We need to use our bodies. When I use my body, whether by swimming or taking a bike ride, I feel myself come alive. When we do something physical, the body releases healthy chemicals that elevate the spirit. Those natural chemicals help our work and our relationships. That’s the way the Great Designer made us.
It’s all so much simpler than we make it. Ask yourself this question: If I had a free day today, if no one was looking and there was no esteem to be gained by any accomplishment and if money was no object, what would I do? Inside that answer, you’ll find what’s true for you.
Too often, people get caught up in how they can turn what they love into a job. That’s not the question. The question is simply What do you love to do? Go explore that and the next door will open up.
