Meaningful is defined as full of meaning, significant or of value, purposeful. To participate in this moment we’re sharing about meaningful life, I need to personally address the elements that shape my life – the spiritual, emotional, physical, material, and social things make up the gumbo that is this life of mine.
As I explore meaning, I realize that, for me, a meaningful life is full of sharing, knowing, forgiving, loving, and even at times, being selfish.
The sooner we understand what we value, the sooner and closer we get to our real truth, the one we privately tweak and seldom mention to others. I live my meaningful life by understanding that I must adjust daily, forgive hourly, love every minute, and never sweat the seconds – there are just too many of them.
I stay in my game by realizing that life is NOT A GAME. Life is too serious, or shall I say too precious for the sensitive eyes and ears that are on this journey with me. Life at a high level is a contact sport. As I drive this car of life down a highway of fast moving cars, some driven by people who don’t give a damn about me and some driven by people who do, I must don my full armor of God, push boldly toward my goals, and count on grace and mercy to see me through.
The trick I use to stay focused on what’s meaningful to me is allowing my mind to go where it will. I trust my instincts and I trust myself. When I find that certain ideas or people are constantly on my mind, it’s time to make a move.
Trust the genius in you. And if you’ve never met your genius, stop reading, close your eyes, say a prayer, and let the introduction begin.
