I work to encourage the urgently needed inner revolution each of us is encountering right now as we let go of old judgments, fears, and programming and open up to deeper guidance from our inner voice of wisdom. As my early mentor Krishnamurti insisted, the future of our world society requires deep psychological revolution, in which each of us transforms our own mind and wakes up to our true calling. We have the ability to quiet our internal ego chatter and tune in to our deeper inner voice of insight, guidance, and compassion – that’s what meditation is all about. I get up each morning and work, as a psychologist and meditation teacher, to bring potent new meditation tools to everyone seeking them.
In my twenties and thirties, I worked as a spiritually-focused therapist and research psychologist. Then I responded to a deeper calling and spent two decades mostly in retreat, step-by-step developing a compressed short-form meditation process that enables people to shift into spiritual consciousness rapidly and often during the day. Now I teach this “Expand This Moment” method.
I stay engaged through practicing what I preach, using Focus Phrases throughout each day to aim my attention toward what I find most important: non-stop inner exploration, sharing what I’ve discovered, and consciously participating in enjoying each moment spent with friends and in nature. Through writing, music, video production, and teaching, I do my best to let Spirit speak via my personal presence as a spontaneous flow.
More than ever, we need to support each other as we open up to rapid growth and transformation and wake up. My guidance hopefully reflects our generation’s update of the core process that Lao Tzu and Buddha, Jesus and Krishnamurti and so many other spiritual teachers have expressed: Let’s do our best to live fully in this moment; stay aware of our breathing; let go of judgment and fear; and focus on acceptance, insight, courage, and integrity. And enjoy God’s creation in every new moment.
