Growing as a human being is measured not by what you get, but by what you give. Many people have adopted a service perspective, though they often give of that service conditionally. What would happen if you served from a place of unconditional loving and no one noticed? You know, it’s actually impossible to do this, because one person would notice. You would notice! You would know what you did and how you did it.
Giving or serving another from a place of unconditional loving is very different from giving or serving with hopes of the world recognizing your charity. It requires quieting your ego. Nothing seems to quiet the ego more than just giving or serving another and never asking for something in return.
Are you willing to serve behind the scenes, working to build something that contributes to the growth of humanity, regardless of race, creed, color, situation, or circumstances? Are you willing to keep serving while others are acknowledged for their great service? Can you keep your ego in check and continue to focus on unconditional loving service?
If you can, the world desperately needs you and your leadership. You don’t need to be a world leader on a public stage. Genuine leadership, the type of leadership that transforms the world, starts with unconditional loving service.
