I choose peace and authenticity. It’s a choice everyone can make, in each moment of every day. As I choose, I find meaning as I connect with others.
For years, I noticed a restlessness inside of me, wanting to be authentic in my power and wanting to reveal everything, unfiltered. But I was constantly worried about how my offerings would be received or if they would be rejected. So, instead of choosing to be real, I suppressed my true self from others. I learned it takes a huge amount of energy to be inauthentic. I felt the impact.
At first, my body colluded with my mind and heart as I existed in this phony self, a persona I created that had a story. Eventually, my body acted out by creating aches and pains. Finally, my body rebelled with severe migraines, neck pain, hip pain, and foot cramps that would shoot up my legs so that I couldn’t stand. It was time for me to listen or soon my body would go on strike.
I decided to put myself into integrity, be authentic, and realize my potential. I decided to own my power. The very day I committed to this, ALL of my pain went away. Years of pain were erased in one fell swoop. I’m grateful for this lesson and am even more open to learning than ever before.
As I choose to reveal and be authentic in every moment and as I rely on my rock-solid self, I realize inner stability and a peacefulness that inspires others.
My body is thrilled and we are on speaking terms again.
