Action is the fuel to my fire. I believe that with constant upward action we can make real, visible changes to our lives.
Many people are happy to live a quiet uneventful life unless something makes them take action. When my daughter was five she was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome. As a mom the worst thing is to see your child suffer. There were options available to help my daughter, but I soon realized they came with a big price tag. So I had to take a step out of my comfort zone and become an entrepreneur.
To me this seemed like a big mountain to climb. But I didn’t have a choice. Instead of looking at the big task in front of me I broke it down into smaller steps. Each day I took a little action toward reaching my goal.
I set small goals and when I reached them I would set a goal a little bigger. It helped me accomplish much more than I ever thought I could.
We all have a cause we love. It could be animals, curing a disease, or anything else that’s important to you. Each of us can give something to help move our cause forward. You may feel like, “What could I do? I’m only one person.” One person is all it takes to lead a revolution.
When I put my cause first and write one small action I can take each day to help my cause, I’m amazed at what I alone can accomplish.
After a while of setting goals and seeing what you can achieve, you’ll feel bothered if you fall off track. To get back on remind yourself of your cause, and you’ll feel the fire and passion inside of you ignite again.
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
