I was seventeen when I was injured. After my injury I became more aware of my surroundings and the things I want to have or do or be a part of. Honestly, I focus on the things I can do and don’t dwell on the things I can’t do. If I could go back and change the day I got injured, I would do that, but I can’t so I don’t really think about it. I think about meeting new people, inspiring people, and doing what I love.
Everyone is so worried about what others think that they lose sight of what they really want to do. I think people need to learn patience. Lack of patience is something that stresses people out. It helps to think before we talk, to assess situations, and to just breathe.
What brings me back to reality is surfing, poker, and fishing – being able to do things I love, and being around people with good energy.
I really try to go with the flow and go wherever that takes me. I try not to stress out about anything. I work hard and I enjoy the things I love.
